Hits Were Hard to Come by for Both Teams As Easton JV Loses To Whitehall

Easton, PA — Both teams produced strong pitching performances on Saturday, but Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers.
Jake Caudill started the game for Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers and recorded 18 outs. The sophomore starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Whitehall's starter gave up three hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking four.
Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs got on the board in the second inning, scoring two runs, which turned out to be all they needed for victory. They tacked on one run in the third.
Caudill went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Alvin,, Caudill, Schaffer, Greg, and Bush each collected one hit for Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers.
The Easton JV Rovers will play host to Nazareth in the season finale on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm on Charles Richards field on the campus of Easton Area High School.
