Derry, NH — We lost a hard-fought game today, 9-5, to a very good Windham team. We were down 6-1 at halftime, but the boys never gave up. They kept fighting and outscored their opponent 4-3 in the second half. I’m especially proud of the way they came out after being down 5 at halftime and battled hard against a very physical team. Huge game for Ian in goal, making some amazing saves while also delivering outstanding clears. Defensively, Archi was a beast on ground balls and clears, Max played physical defense and even blocked a shot, and Luke came up with a couple of nice ground balls while playing strong positional defense. Our midfielders were hustling on both ends of the field. Julian had some great ground balls and clears, Maverick was physical on ground balls and even stepped up to play down low on defense when we were down a man, and we got strong faceoff efforts from Tripp, Aidan, and Blaine, along with excellent wing play from everyone. Offensively, we moved the ball very well in the second half, finding the open man when the double team came and creating some great scoring opportunities. Jack was once again all over the field, making plays on rides and offense, and even jumped in at midfield when we had some tired legs. We had five different goal scorers today. Crew finished with a goal and an assist, including a great pass to Aidan. Tripp scored a goal, Aidan scored a goal, Blaine scored a goal, and Knox scored his first goal of the season on an incredible spin move and a great shot. The entire team was fired up for him! I am very proud of the boys and their never-give-up attitude and effort. I know I can be hard on them (especially Blaine!), but they responded and fought hard right until the final whistle again today. This is a special group of players that has competed with tremendous effort all season and positive attitudes, win or lose, and that's all you can ask for as a coach. I hope everyone had a great afternoon. Coach Kevin
