Tucson, AZ — After falling heartbreakingly short in last yearโ€™s title run, Salpointe Catholic Varsity Lady Lancers are heading BACK to the State Championship in dominant fashion after a statement 16-1 victory over the Cactus Shadows Falcons on Thursday at Amphitheater High School. Torrence Salyer delivered an unforgettable performance, blasting TWO home runs โ€” including a grand slam โ€” while driving in EIGHT runs to power the Lancers offense. Salyer homered in both the second and third innings as Salpointe exploded offensively from start to finish. Inside the circle, Macee Jackson was lights out once again, striking out 11 batters while allowing just two hits and one run over five dominant innings with zero walks. After Cactus Shadows struck first in the opening inning, the Lancers responded immediately and never looked back. Big hits from Isabel Otero, CC Moraga, and Salyer sparked an offensive avalanche that turned the semifinal into a runaway. The bats stayed hot all night as Salpointe piled up 17 total hits. Moraga, Otero, Salyer, and Peaches Sztan each collected three hits, while Sarah Camp and Iza Palomarez added multiple-hit performances of their own. Now, the mission is clear. One more game. One more opportunity. A chance to finish what they started last season and bring the championship trophy back to Salpointe. ๐Ÿ†
