Whitehall, PA — Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Defeat Bangor Slaters Varsity By GameChanger Media Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs defeated Bangor Slaters Varsity 7-2 on Tuesday at Whitehall High School. Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Tanner Sweeney doubled, scoring one run, Tyler Sanders singled, scoring one run, Donato Brigidi singled, scoring two runs, and Sudge Hoderewski tripled, scoring one run. Nik Christman earned the win for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. The hurler gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Gino Merlo took the loss for Bangor Slaters Varsity. The right-handed pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking three. Jack Lloyd appeared in relief for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. Sweeney led Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Sweeney, Sanders, Brigidi, Christman, Jules Alatzas, and Hoderewski each collected one hit for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs.
