Recap
Amherst, NH — In Game 2, the Astros prevailed 9-7 over a very good Exeter team, the same Exeter team that defeated us 10-7 during the regular season.
With Ian unavailable, Money Mav stepped up in goal, and what a performance it was! Maverick made 10+ saves, including a couple of miraculous doorstep stops that kept us in the game and helped secure the win.
Once again, our defense was outstanding, led by Max, Archi, and Luke. Max and Archi were all over some of the best offensive players we've faced all season, while Luke continued his strong play with great positioning and effort. Our midfielders were tired after a long day, but they never stopped working and continued to battle hard on the defensive end.
Offensively, Jack led all scorers with 4 huge goals, including the go-ahead goal to give us an 8-7 lead and the final goal of the game to put us up 9-7. Blaine added 2 goals, Tripp contributed 2 assists, and Aidan, Julian, and Knox each scored a goal.
Watching the growth and development of this team throughout the season has been incredible. The boys practiced hard, played hard, supported one another, and finished the season by beating a very talented Exeter team. The coaches could not be prouder of this group and everything they accomplished this year.
Thank you to all the players and families for a fantastic season. It was a lot of fun watching these boys grow as players, teammates, and young men.
We are so proud of this team!
