Saints Blank St. Francis de Sales 35-0 at the Glass Bowl
Bishop Dwenger 35, Saint Francis De Sales 0
Toledo, OH — Toledo, Ohio (Aug. 28, 2026) — Bishop Dwenger let its defense set the tone and its offense finish the job Friday night, riding 35 unanswered points to a 35-0 shutout of Toledo St. Francis de Sales at the University of Toledo's Glass Bowl. The win keeps the Saints — Indiana's defending Class 4A champions — perfect at 2-0 on the season.
The opening quarter belonged to the BD defense. The Saints repeatedly stuffed the Knights behind the line and kept them off the scoreboard, and while the offense moved the ball, the two teams headed to the second quarter still deadlocked at 0-0.
Then the floodgates opened. Bishop Dwenger struck first early in the second when Max Jordan powered in from short range to make it 7-0. Quarterback Tommy Coffman took over from there, first connecting with Carter Zent on a 32-yard strike down the field for a 14-0 lead, then tucking the ball himself and racing 20 yards to the end zone with the half winding down. By the break, the Saints had built a commanding 21-0 cushion.
The second half was the Kolyn Campbell show. The junior running back capped a mid-third-quarter drive with a short touchdown run to push the lead to 28-0, then sealed it a few minutes later with an electric 50-yard sprint to the house. That score made it 35-0 and triggered a running clock, and the final held there the rest of the way.
Defensively, BD never let St. Francis breathe, holding the Knights to just 91 total yards — a mere 35 on the ground — while forcing a turnover and living in the backfield all night. Special teams did their part too: Eric Hudson was perfect on extra points and consistently boomed his kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks, flipping field position all night.
Bishop Dwenger moves to 2-0 and stands alone as the only undefeated team in the Summit Athletic Conference. The Saints return home next week to host the Wayne Generals (0-2).
