Fort Wayne, IN — The Bishop Dwenger Saints delivered another impressive performance Friday night, using a powerful rushing attack, timely defensive stops and two fourth-quarter touchdowns to defeat Snider 28-14. The Saints piled up 343 yards of total offense, including 272 on the ground, while forcing two interceptions and holding the Panthers scoreless throughout the entire second half. Dwenger set the tone early. With 8:09 remaining in the first quarter, Tommy Coffman connected with Zion Boungou for a 22-yard touchdown pass, giving the Saints an early 7-0 advantage following Eric Hudson’s extra point. The connection capped a strong opening drive and gave Dwenger the early momentum. After Snider answered to tie the game, the Saints wasted little time responding. With 2:02 remaining in the opening quarter, Max Jordan powered his way into the end zone from two yards out, giving Dwenger its second touchdown of the night. Hudson added the extra point, putting the Saints back in front 14-7. The Panthers managed to tie the game before halftime, sending both teams into the locker room deadlocked at 14-14. But while the scoreboard remained even, Dwenger continued finding success with its physical rushing attack and strong play up front. The third quarter became a defensive battle as neither team managed to find the end zone. Dwenger’s defense stepped up when it mattered most, keeping the Panthers off the scoreboard and giving the offense opportunities to regain control. The Saints finally broke through in the fourth quarter. With 6:04 remaining, Jordan powered his way into the end zone for a six-yard rushing touchdown, giving him his second score of the night. Hudson connected on the extra point, putting Dwenger back in front 21-14. With the game hanging in the balance, the Saints’ defense continued to deliver. Dwenger kept Snider out of the end zone throughout the second half, allowing its offense to maintain control and work the clock. Then came the finishing blow. With just 1:28 remaining, Kolyn Campbell broke through for a seven-yard rushing touchdown, extending the Saints’ advantage to 28-14 following another successful extra point from Hudson. The late score capped a dominant fourth quarter and secured the victory for Dwenger. That Saints offensive line deserves plenty of credit. Time and again, Dwenger controlled the line of scrimmage and created running lanes for its backs. Campbell led the rushing attack with 130 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, while Jordan added 63 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Coffman contributed another 57 rushing yards as the Saints finished with 272 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns. The defense was every bit as impressive. After allowing 14 points in the first half, Dwenger completely shut down Snider after the break. The Saints held the Panthers to just 24 rushing yards and 231 total yards, while forcing two interceptions and recording three sacks. Xavier Douge led the defensive effort with eight total tackles, two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss, consistently creating problems in the backfield. Jordan Fabini added seven tackles and a sack, while Logan Parrish recorded seven tackles. Nick O’Keefe and Max Jordan each came away with an interception, helping Dwenger keep the Panthers from finding any offensive rhythm. Offensively, the Saints showed their ability to control the game in multiple ways. Coffman completed five passes for 72 yards and a touchdown, with Boungou hauling in two receptions for 31 yards and a score. O’Keefe added a 29-yard reception, while Campbell contributed two catches for 12 yards. Dwenger’s physicality was on full display throughout the night. The Saints controlled possession for nearly 33 minutes, recorded 20 first downs and consistently moved the chains behind their powerful ground game. Hudson also finished a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points, helping Dwenger capitalize on every touchdown. It was another complete team performance from a Saints squad that continues to build momentum. Dwenger scored early, responded when Snider fought back and dominated the second half on both sides of the football. With two fourth-quarter touchdowns, a second-half defensive shutout and 343 yards of offense, the Saints walked away with an impressive 28-14 victory over Snider.
