Chicago, IL — This game just didn't start well for us and we never got on track. Perfect example was opening KO Gionni fields the ball cleanly and takes off cleanly but is ruled down as he went down to get the ball. No big deal right, our offense hops on the field and after back and forth penalties got started with a big run by King, behind a great block from Majid. We had several good plays in the opening drive along with a few penalties but the turning point was a great edge rush by Lane caught Max as he was about to throw, leading to a fumble that was returned for a touch down! Adrien made a great tackle preventing the extra point! Team was alright, no big deal, we've got this! So they kick off again, and the return is looking like it's going all the way and on no a second fumble! Players had been prepped all week on the plays they would run and stuff the opening run by Lane we expected plus a penalty put them behind the sticks! Next play was a bomb just past the corner taken to the house by Lane for their second score. This hurt the team a little and they struggled to get back into a grove. We did have two great turnovers. Majid struck the running back at the line on a great read dislodging the ball, recovered by Taft!!! Later Majid would catch a pass that was tipped by Cameron. The offense was unable to capitalize on these turnovers to get any points. The second half saw the team stiffen and the teams went back and forth with out scoring for a while. Taft did sustain several injuries as well, but the replacement players stepped in and played well but it did mean there were some tired guys near then end. Robert had a great reception on the last play of the game followed by a great run to put Taft on the board to end the game. Let's build for next week!
