Brenham, TX — The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team lost to No. 12 Blinn College in four sets on Thursday at the Kruse Kickoff Classic in Brenham, Texas. The Titans fell 25-16, 21-25, 25-16, 25-15 in the first of five matches in the tournament. The Titans got off to a slow start in the first set as Blinn College led throughout the first set, falling 25-16. They would rebound in the second set as the Titans jumped out to a 6-1 lead and a couple of Leyre Arroyo Sanchez kills pushed the lead to 12-4. Lucy Williams had an ace to extend the lead to 16-9 but Blinn College would go on a run and eventually tie the match at 18-18. Tied 20-20, Diara Gaye had a kill and then Eve Nelson had a big block to give them a 22-20 lead. Nelson would record the block to finish off the second set and tie the match. But Blinn would take the lead right from the start in the third set and used some strong serving to win the final two sets and remain unbeaten.
