El Cajon, CA — EL CAJON, CA (9/15/2026) -- Palomar College women's soccer picked up its first win of the season in dominant fashion on Tuesday, pouring in seven goals in a 7-2 victory on the road at Grossmont College.
The Comets wasted no time setting the tone, and sophomore forward Keela Farnum was at the center of it all, turning in a four-goal outburst to lead the offensive explosion. Farnum opened the scoring unassisted before adding a second goal off a feed from Emma Gryn, and kept finding the back of the net throughout the match, including another unassisted strike and a fifth-goal assist from Eva Lopez that set up her fourth of the day.
Amiah Olvera also had a big afternoon, scoring twice, first off a Gryn assist and later finishing a feed from Katelyn Melton. Fatima Valle rounded out the scoring with a goal set up by Lorelai Jimerson.
Gryn was the engine of the attack in the midfield, tallying two assists to go with her own offensive pressure, while Palomar spread the wealth with contributions up and down the roster. The Comets finished with 18 shots on goal as they kept the pressure on from start to finish.
In goal, Palomar split time between Minha Moser and Emma Arce, with Arce earning the win after a strong second-half effort that included three saves as Grossmont tried to claw back into it late.
The victory snaps Palomar into the win column for the first time this season and gives the Comets some much-needed momentum. They'll look to carry it forward when they return home to host San Diego Mesa College on Friday at 6 p.m.
