Wachusett JV2 completes comeback victory 26-22

Wachusett JV2 pulled off an incredible comeback, storming back from a 16-point halftime deficit to defeat Doherty JV1 26–22 and keep its undefeated season alive! The Mountaineers struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, heading into the locker room trailing 16–0. But the second half was a completely different story! Owen Foley got the comeback started by connecting with Kellen Dzik for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 16–6. After the Wachusett defense forced a quick three-and-out, Reuben Neiray provided a huge spark, electrifying the sideline with a 60-yard punt return touchdown to make it 16–12! Doherty answered with another touchdown drive to extend its lead to 22–12 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Mountaineers refused to go away. Foley launched a 50-yard touchdown strike to Nico Panechelli to bring Wachusett within three at 22–19. Following a massive defensive stand, the Mountaineers took over at their own 30-yard line with a chance to take the lead. Big plays to Dean Bennett and Dylan Devault moved the offense down the field before Foley connected with Panechelli once again, this time on a spectacular 45-yard touchdown bomb to give Wachusett its first lead of the game, 26–22! With the game on the line, the Mountaineer defense delivered one final fourth-down stop to seal the unbelievable comeback victory! Standout performances came from Owen Foley, Reuben Neiray, JP Cawley, Cam McGeary, Levi Beverage, Jake LaRoche, Dylan Devault, Jiovanni Coleman, and Nico Panechelli. Down 16–0 at halftime, Wachusett JV2 showed tremendous heart, toughness, and determination, scoring 26 second-half points to complete the comeback and keep its perfect season rolling!
