Pleasant Hill, CA — Sac High Lady Dragons faced a bigger foe in Carondelet of Concord. Though the girls from Oak Park controlled most of the game, they were unable to put away CHS in the third place game of the West Coast Jamboree. Sac High led 44-29 near the end of the 3rd quarter and led 46-36 going into the fourth, but cold shooting, a few bad fouls and costly turnovers ultimately unwound the Lady Dragons late in the game. Carondelet took their first lead of the game with a little under 3 minutes to go, at 53-52. The Lady Dragons were able to quickly score to regain the lead 54-53, but would not score again as the Cougars were able to put the game away from the free throw line. Sac High finished 4th, going 1-2, with the lone win being one of the biggest upsets in the state in this young season, a 51-48 victory over Etiwanda. Sac High enters league play 7-5 with 3 road games to open the new year, including a highly anticipated game vs. Archbishop Mitty of San Jose.
