Cypress, CA — Pioneer Titans Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-0 loss to Oxford Academy on Tuesday. Oxford Academy took the lead on a in the first inning. Pioneer struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Oxford Academy, giving up 13 runs. Oxford Academy fired up the offense in the first inning. Luke Hogencamp was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. One bright spot for Pioneer was a single by Matt Zepeda in the first inning. Jesus Gonzalez got the win for Oxford Academy. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one. Zepeda took the loss for Pioneer.
