San Juan Capistrano, CA — Oh thank heaven for 7 - 11 ! Don't think so! not with Diablos involved! The Lions were in this match to the very end... with 2 matches still being played, the Lions were in pretty good shape for a 9-9 tie, but, couldn't capitalize in the end, dropping these last two sets in the end. Sophomore, Brett Batey swept all of his matches against good players, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. He is striking the ball very well and the other coaches are impressed with his improvement from last year. Coach Orahood notes, "Our young players need to know how to close out matches with a lead, they are pretty good at come-from-behind victories. We'll get there. They will eventually get tired of losing these close matches and the tide will turn." VArsity gets a breather tomorrow and regroup against Trabuco Hills at home this Thursday!
