Santa Ana, CA — The Lions traveled Danny Dayless to Los Cab to play the Monarchs and it was lopsided from the beginning. Mater Dei has the league's #2 player as well as 2 other strong singles. Brett Batey, after being disposed by Jake Huarte {grandson of 1964 Heisman Trophy winner, John Huarte) quickly regained his winning ways, with a 6 -2 victory vs line 2. Brett then was up 5-3 on the line 3 player, but couldn't hold on, losing 5-7. Brock Bowman and Sean Delaney had a great comeback win in round 1, down 2 - 5, fighting off a handful of sets points to take the set 7-5! They then lost a close tiebreaker match, 6-7 before winning their 2nd set in round 3. Logan Assad with Nicky Dubrow played some great tennis today keeping all 3 of their sets close. Andrew Antonius with Nick Graham added the 4th point in a doubles win. Due to rain outs makeups, we host the Monarchs tomorrow at JSerra. Go Lions!
