Escondido, CA — The Lady Patriots traveled to Escondido Adventist for their first league game of the year. They came in excited and ready to start league 1-0 and the is exactly what they did. The Patriots scored in every inning with everyone on the team getting at least one at bat in the victory! They were aggressive on the base path taking extra bases whenever possible and putting the pressure on the Adventist defense. The lady Patriots scored 19 runs in support of their pitcher Cynthia Grañados, as she took the circle for her first official start of the year. She rewarded the offense by pitching an amazing game striking out six batters and only giving up 1 earned run! Great start to league for the ladies who, according to MaxPreps, are now ranked 3rd in division 5 softball.

Cynthia pitched an amazing game in her first official start of the year! She dominated the strike zone all game mixing speeds with her newly developed change-up to keep hitters off balance! She struck out 6 batters on her way to a very decisive 19-5 win for the Lady Patriots notching her first win as well!

Devon Miller

Devon had a monster day at the plate! She was walked in her first at bat but followed that up with a double, triple, and a home run! She was a single away from the cycle but never got a chance for that last at bat! She lead the way with her bat but backed up her play on the field as well. She ended the game with an unassited double play in the bottom of the 5th inning to help propel the Lady Patriots to a 3-1 start to the season.
