Atherton, CA — The Royals traveled up North to take on the Menlo College Oaks. The Royals were trying to bounce back from a four game losing skid but lost to the Oaks 78-85. The Royals opened up the game with a quick dunk by Jonah Underwood (SR/San Jose, CA) which put them up 2-0 at the start. The Royals, however, would only see a lead of 5-2 before Menlo would wind up on top. Menlo Oaks offense outshot the Royals from three-point range the entire way through. The Royals were held to 33% shooting from beyond the ark. The Royals went into the half trailing 45-41. The Royals came into the second half struggling to put the ball through the hoop. They missed their first four shot attempts before finally scoring five minutes into the second half. The leading scorer for the Royals tonight was Josh Powell Davis with 26 points. He also led the Royals in free throws going 6 for 6 on the evening, however, it still wasn't enough for the Royals to overcome and win. This loss puts the Royals at 14-8 overall and 3-7 in GSAC play. The Royals will finish up the Northern California road trip on Saturday, February 1st at William Jessup. The game is set to tip-off at 2:00 pm.
