Rocklin, CA — The Royals ended their road trip to Northern California with a GSAC match up against William Jessup. The Royals fall to 14-9 overall and 3-8 in GSAC after dropping to the Warriors 96-86. The Royals opened up the game with a 12-4 scoring run to get ahead of the Warriors. The Warriors started to get hot from behind the ark and would make ten three-pointers in the first half, to account for half of their points. With four minutes remaining in the half, the Warriors scored sixteen straight points, while the Royals struggled to make a basket. This brought the Royals deficit to 20 points and the Royals trailed at halftime 51-33. In the second half, the Royals battled and outscored the Warriors 53-45. Halfway into the second half Eric Toles (SR/Sacramento, CA) and Kane Daniels (SR/Blythe, CA) hit back to back three-pointers to cut the Royals deficit to 17 points. Later in the half, Josh Powell-Davis (JR/Oakland, CA) hit two layups in two straight possessions to get the Royals within 11 points. As the clock kept ticking the Royals continued to make a run and made it a 6 point game. The Royals fell short in the end 96-86 to the Warriors. Eric Toles led the offense with 26 points, while Josh-Powell Davis added 23 points with 6 assists and 7 rebounds. The Royals will be on the road against Life Pacific University on February 6th at 7:30 PM.
