Wildomar, CA — The Freshman Elsinore Tigers returned to action and earned a home victory against the Arlington Lions after having their game cancelled last week. The Lions did all they could to stop the Tigers rushing attack, but the Tigers proved they could take their offensive attack to the air. Quarterback Semaj Moore spread the ball around to wide receivers Cayden Cornelius and Isaac Pineda, as well as running backs Darren Willis and Andrew Stankevich to move the tigers into scoring position. Moore also used his legs to move the chains for the Tigers while sneaking his way to his first Tiger touchdown. Defensively, Elsinore earned their first shut out of the season. The defensive front held the Lions to -10 yards rushing, led by defensive linemen Jacob Melendez and Chris Avila and Linebackers Darren Willis and Adrian Padilla. Defensive end Zavier Swoffer continued his outstanding freshman season with 7 tackles, 5 for loss and 2 sacks. The shorter days, cooler weather, and beautiful sunset over the Ortega mountains is a sign that football season is truly upon us. Sadly, it also symbolizes that our time together as a team is coming to an end. The Tigers will be ready to adapt this week against any opponent that stands in their way on Thursday, before finishing the season against rival Temescal Canyon in 2 weeks. https://www.hudl.com/game/elsinore-high-school-vs-arlington/freshman-football/131266-11578205/box-score
