La Habra, CA — Troy Warriors Varsity defeated Sonora 3-2 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with Troy Warriors Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Nathan Jackle singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Troy Warriors Varsity pitchers struck out seven, while Sonora pitchers sat down seven. Troy Warriors Varsity got things started in the first inning. Noah Elorriaga drove in two when he homered. Sonora evened things up at two in the bottom of the fifth inning. An error scored one run for Sonora. Jack Warsaw was the winning pitcher for Troy Warriors Varsity.
