Fountain Valley, CA — Nathan Ruano had a busy day at the plate on Tuesday, smacking four hits in the Titans 12-6 victory over Los Amigos. Ruano singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, tripled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh. There was plenty of action on the offensive side of the ball as Pioneer collected 17 hits and Los Amigos had six. In the first inning, Pioneer got their offense started when Augie Gonzalez doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. Pioneer put up four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by PiHi was led by Michael Ramirez, Ruano, Izeah Baqueiro, and Xavier Cervantes, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Los Amigos scored three runs in the sixth inning. Vega, Mena, and Alvarez all drove in runs in the frame. Cervantes earned the victory on the mound for Pioneer. He surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Fernando Jimenez and Adrian Zamora entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Alvarez took the loss for Los Amigos. He surrendered six runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Pioneer racked up 17 hits in the game. Ruano, Gonzalez, Baqueiro, and Jelanni Wilson all collected multiple hits for Pioneer Titans Varsity. Gonzalez and Ruano each managed four hits to lead Pioneers offense.
