Whittier, CA — Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Pioneer and Jordan where Pioneerprevailed 15-7. PiHi got on the board in the first inning when Jelanni Wilson doubled in two runs. The Titans scored six runs in the second inning. The rally was led by singles by Augie Gonzalez and Tony Beltran, doubles by Nathan Cardenas and Damon Galindo, a triple by Druw Galindo, and an error on a ball put in play by Adrian Zamora. Jordan scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Jordan came thanks to a walk by Santillan and an error on a ball put in play by Powell. Galindo was the winning pitcher for Pioneer. He surrendered five runs on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out three and walking one. Nathan Ruano, Xavier Cervantes, and Fernando Jimenez all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Cervantes recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Pioneer. Pioneer Titans Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Izeah Baqueiro, Wilson, Gonzalez, Cervantes, and Galindo all managed multiple hits for Pioneer. Galindo, Cervantes, Gonzalez, Wilson, and Baqueiro each collected two hits to lead the Titan offense.
