La MIrada, CA — La Mirada Matadores Freshman defeated Lakewood 10-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Dillon Nichols induced a double-play from #16 to finish off the game. La Mirada Matadores Freshman secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. La Mirada Matadores Freshman put the pressure on, lead by an error on a ball put in play by Cole Smith and Adrian Robles, a triple by Jonah Rouenhourst, a groundout by Luke Leichter, and a double by Benjamin Kim. A single by Mason in the third inning was a positive for Lakewood. Ryan Sepe led things off on the hill for La Mirada Matadores Freshman. He went four and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out two. Tyler Harris started the game for Lakewood. He allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three. Adrian Arellano and Crespo Crespo entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
