Escondido, CA — RBV Longhorns defeated West Hills 11-1 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with RBV Longhorns batting in the bottom of the third when Savannah Coyle drew a walk, scoring one run. RBV Longhorns tallied five runs in the fourth inning. RBV Longhorns put the pressure on, lead by singles by Cadee Herrmann and Janae Combs, a triple by Angelina Cruz, and a groundout by Coyle. Coyle was the winning pitcher for RBV Longhorns. She surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Maddie Edwards took the loss for West Hills. She went one inning, allowing five runs on four hits. Lily Youngdale started the game for West Hills. She went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out five RBV Longhorns hit one home run on the day. Janae Combs had a four bagger in the third inning to straightaway center. RBV Longhorns racked up 11 hits in the game. Cruz, Combs, Paige Dimler, and Herrmann each managed multiple hits for RBV Longhorns. Herrmann, Dimler, Combs, and Cruz each collected two hits to lead RBV Longhorns.
