Wichita, KS — West Pioneers Varsity scores more runs than Northwest, takes victory on Tuesday to the tune of 8-5 West Pioneers Varsity got on the board in the second inning when Reece Hembree tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. West Pioneers Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Micah Dvorak tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Joel Townsley doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and an error scored one run for West Pioneers Varsity. West Pioneers Varsity put up three runs in the sixth inning. West Pioneers Varsity's big inning was driven by a walk by Mark Valadez and by Dvorak. Hembree led things off on the pitcher's mound for West Pioneers Varsity. Hembree went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero. J Hannon led things off on the hill for Northwest. Hannon surrendered five runs on six hits over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. R Oberlechner and K Parrett entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
