Vacaville, CA — Vanden Vikings JV defeated Will C. Wood 4-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. They improved their record to 7-2 overall, and 5-1 in M.E.L. play. The Vikes scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Kayden Omoso, Josiah Miguel, and Dalen Shipp powered the big inning with hits and RBIs. Miguel earned the victory on the mound for Vanden. The sophomore right-hander scattered four hits and allowed zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five Wildcats in the process. Jovan Ochoa recorded the last out to finish off Wood. Lawrence Westbrook took the hard luck loss for Wood. The pitcher surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out seven. Miguel also led Vanden offensively with two hits in four at bats. The Players of the Game for the Vikings were Josiah Miguel and Kayden Omoso.
