Wichita, KS — Coltin Watkins had all the right stuff on Friday for Goddard Lions Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Northwest by a score of 10-0 Jake Shope led Goddard Lions Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. Shope went 3-for-4 at the plate. Shope drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the fifth, and a single in the sixth. Goddard Lions Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Shope singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Goddard Lions Varsity notched seven runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Lake Hamilton and Shope, a walk by Mason Lubbers, and a double by Braden Morrison. A double by Coleman in the first inning was a positive for Northwest. Watkins earned the win for Goddard Lions Varsity. Watkins allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Oberlahcer took the loss for Northwest. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on four hits. Goddard Lions Varsity scattered ten hits in the game. Shope, Jaden Wiley, and Hamilton each had multiple hits for Goddard Lions Varsity. Shope went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Goddard Lions Varsity in hits. Green led Northwest with two hits in two at bats.
