Fullerton, CA — Jubilation abounds as Max Chiotis and Sean Do fight off set point down 4-5 “ad out” to win final and match winning set: 7-5. Just slightly ahead in finishing, Kenny Perez and Noah Nguyen came from behind: 0-3, 1-4, and 2-5! to defeat the Friar’s best doubles team 7-5 as well. Both courts were 4-5, 5-5, 6-5 and then 7-5! Heads were going back and forth like a ping pong match🤪🎾🤪! MVP honors to the 3 players who shared line 2 doubles, each winning 2 sets to make the 100% club this afternoon: Noah Nguyen, Isaac Nguyen and Kenny Perez. Noah helped little brother Isaac win his first set of the year (yay!) against their #2 team: 6-1, followed by Isaac and Kenny beating their #3 team: 6-2. The 2 set game spread margins of victory were the widest differentials of the day, ultimately giving us the game count victory. Also instrumental in the game count spread was the great efforts by Logan Lebsack and Jordan Gessin in round #1, fighting back from 1-5, not giving up and getting the next 5 games before losing a highly contested tie- breaker set 6-7🥲. Ditto for Nicholas Barrios who got 4 tough games off their #2 singles player - well played. Honorable mention to Max Chiotis and Sean Do who won 2 of 3 sets played today at #1 doubles.
