Anaheim, CA — The Lions ended up winning their final dual match today and secured sole possession of 2nd place for this year. Servite, who we previously beat, was 7 - 1, JSerra 6 - 2 and SM 5 - 3; OLu,, Bosco and Mater Dei in the bottom half. Danny Day had an AP test and missed round one, but, his JV sub, Kenney Perez handled OLu's line3 player 6 -3. Kenney was pulled up at last minute, literally and has never competed on varsity; great debut! Danny, Zach and Brock added 2 each to the singles tally. Both of these young men had awesome efforts vs OLus line1. Danny's last match vs OLu's line1 was watched by everyone and was exciting tennis. Danny won 6-2, this OLu player is the #2 seed in the league finals. Sean Delaney and GAry Davidson fought off 3 MATCH points, down 1-5 before reeling off SIX STRAIGHT GAMES in round one vs OLus line1. HUGE effort!. Peter Zhang with Anthony Ashworth and Luke Krilokowski added 1 set each to the doubles tally. Danny Day finished his Trinity League campaign without EVER LOSING a set in dual matches. He also has won this championship his Freshman and Sophomore years, covid cancel this last year and this Wednesday and Thursday, Danny will be going for a clean sweep, hat trick! I'd ask you to come out and support us Wed/Thurs, but, no spectators are allowed at this event. But, you will be able to attend the team CIF DUAL matches which start NEXT Thursday, Go Lions!
