Anaheim, CA — Good solid win this afternoon for our young team. Discounting the 3 free set wins we got (OLu was missing a #3 singles player) doubles actually won 1 more set (5) than the singles crew (4) for a pretty balanced attack. MVP honors today go to Rosalia Ripullo who won 100% of her sets played (2/2) in singles, as she remains UNDEFEATED through the first complete round of Trinity League competition. Rosalia took care of their top player 6-1 in the final round, who had won her first 2sets. In addition, MVP doubles teams who won 2 of 3 sets played: Erica Gonzalez stepping up from the Frosh / Soph team (thank you!) with Katherine Dygean. After winning 7-6 and 7-5, they got 4 games off the Lancer’s top doubles team. Great effort today. The other MVP doubles team, Anna Solovjev and Natalie Walters easily defeated their #2 & 3 teams, only to lose a tough tie-breaker to the #1 team. Solid effort today by these two, who just recently teamed up and will be improving as we move into the 2nd round of Trinity League play. Next up: rematch at home Thursday, April 15th vs Mater Dei, 2:45pm.
