Strongsville, OH — Jackson went on the road for a doubleheader at Strongsville. In the first game of the day, Jackson was able to get on the board first scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Strongsville answered back in the bottom of the inning to tie up the score at 1-1. The Polar Bears would answer back in the 2nd and 3rd innings to make the score 3-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Mustangs would take the lead scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 5-3 after three innings. Jackson would battle back and tie up the game at 5-5 after six innings. The Polar Bears would fall in the bottom of the 9th inning on a failed pickoff attempt allowing the Mustangs to score to end the game 6-5. In the second game, Jackson would score two runs in the top of the first inning and one run in the top of the second inning before surrendering fours runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The Polar Bear pitchers would settle in and hold the Mustangs in check for the remainder of the game. Jackson would score two more runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to lead 9-4. Jackson would take game two 9-4 for the win. The Polar Bear offense put pressure on the Mustang defense all afternoon. Jackson out hit Strongsville in game one and game two. Four Polar Bears (Mottice, Freetage, Pastorius, Andrews) had multiple hits in game one and two Polar Bears (Mottice, Andrews) and multiple hits in game two. Jackson is back in action on Monday against Alliance, as well as continue Federal League play against the Lake Blue Streaks on Tuesday and Thursday. Go Bears!!
