Massillon, OH — It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon for baseball. The Jackson Polar Bears hosted the Boardman Spartans. The Polar Bears held the Spartans in check in the top of the first and scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead. Jackson scored again in the bottom of the fourth inning while Boardman managed two runs in the top of the fifth. Jackson ended the game in the bottom of the fifth scoring seven runs to win 12-2. Ian Blood started on the mound for your Polar Bears. He went three innings giving up one hit and one walk while recording four strikeouts. Caleb Slackford had two hits on the afternoon driving in four runs to lead Jackson’s offense. The team is back in action tonight when they visit the Ellet Orangemen at 5:00pm. Go Bears!!
