Farmington, MN — The Farmington Tigers brought their "K" game to the mound, as the Blaze hitters had a tough time making contact all game long, falling 10-2 today in Farmington. Burnsville only mustered 5 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 17 times on the game. Senor right-hander Cole Voss started on the mound for the Blaze, and he kept the Blaze in it through 4 innings. He set down the top of the powerful Tiger lineup in order in the 1st, striking out 2. The Tigers plated 3 in the 2nd, off of an error and 2 walks, followed by a base hit. Cole ended up with 6 strikeouts in 4 innings of work, allowing 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs (3 earned). Seniors Blake Widness and Nick Hughes each pitched an inning in relief. Hughes faced the minimum 3 batters in his Blaze debut. Meanwhile the bats for the Blaze sputtered for most of the game. Senior catcher and co-captain Jackson Kieffer was a spark at the plate, with 3 walks and an RBI line drive single to center. DH Ethan Voss also had 2 knocks for the Blaze. Jordan Sieben had a hit, stole a base and scored a run. Luke Trussell also had a hit, and Jonah Dawson scored a run. The Blaze fall to 0-2 on the young season. They are in action again tomorrow night at Lakeville North, where Kade Bowar is scheduled to start on the mound.
