Farmington, MN — The Blaze sophomore team fought back hard, but ultimately fell to Farmington 8-6. Farmington got up 5-0 in the 3rd inning on some timely hitting. But the Blaze got 1 back in the 4th off a single by Will Sczepanski. Then scoring 3 the next inning with 2 walks and a key double by Nick Mueser. Then at 5-4 in the bottom of the 6th, the Tigers scored 3 runs off a walk and 2 errors to open in back up to 8-4. That proved too much for the Blaze as they were only able to manage two runs in the top of the 7th and fell 8-6. Vincent Birch started the game and went 3 in. and had 6 Ks and 5 BBs in his first start. Will Sczepanski came in relief and threw 3 innings with 4 Ks, 1 ER and 3 BBs. Nick Mueser ended up getting on base 3 times with a single and a double, and 5 others ended up getting at least 1 hit in the effort.
