Burnsville, MN — Some nights are just not your night. The visiting Rosemount squad out played the Blaze in all facets of the game, and the score showed it. It was a quick 10-0 loss in 5 innings for the Blaze. The good news is, it didn't ruin Senior Night which was celebrated after the game. We honored the 12 seniors on the field along with their families. We are grateful to have had a beautiful night to celebrate and honor these young men who, despite not having a junior season, have shown amazing resilience and have represented the baseball program and their community in such a positive way. We are proud of all of them! The bright spot on offense was senior Ben Meuser, who was 2 for 2 with a double and a stolen base. Kade Bowar, Jonah Dawson, Jackson Kieffer also had base hits on the night. Meanwhile the Irish were able to knock out 12 hits, spraying the ball all over the field, but were also helped by 5 Blaze errors. Seniors Blake Schmeling, Owen Geegan and Blake Widness all pitched for the black and gold tonight. Widness stood out by retiring 3 of the 4 batters he faced. As a former coach, this is a game I would tell the boys to "flush", and move right on to the next game, which is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 at Alimagnet vs Hastings in another non-conference game. Weather looks great, the TV crew will be out again, so come on out and watch the Blaze start a new win streak. Senior Kade Bowar is expected to start on the hill.
