Valley Center, KS — West Pioneers Varsity defeated Kapaun Mt. Carmel 11-7 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. West Pioneers Varsity was down 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Micah Dvorak doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs. There was plenty of action on the basepaths as West Pioneers Varsity collected eight hits and Kapaun Mt. Carmel had nine. Kapaun Mt. Carmel fired up the offense in the second inning. Mason Grillot hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. West Pioneers Varsity put up five runs in the sixth inning. Laython Cooper, Nicolas Gonzalez, Mark Valadez, and Garryn Plummer powered the big inning with RBIs. Kapaun Mt. Carmel scored three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Kapaun Mt.
