San Juan Capistrano, CA — “Would-a, Could-a, Should-a” .....at a 9-9 tie, JSerra wins this on game count😱 by 3-4 games - so close. In this match, we won 8 sets of singles and zero doubles sets; and came so close to sweeping singles. We’ll be working on doubles after Easter break and should do better next time we play SMCHS. “I’m very proud of the efforts today, some of the boys powered through some tough sets to find ways to get extra games,” says Coach Keith. Honorable mention to Max Chiotis and Gavin Conniff who, after being down 0-4 in the 3rd and crucial round, fought back to get 4 games before bowing out 4-6. This effort would have been the difference in game count had we tied 9-9. Thanks for not giving up! Honorable mention to Noah Nguyen who won 2 of 3 sets played in singles. Noah battled well against their #3 player (who appeared to be their best player) in the final set with all the pressure and everybody watching. MVP honors for today’s match go to Luke Krolikowski and Kenny Perez who both won 3 for 3 singles sets played in some very warm weather. Well done guys! Next up: rematch at Santa Margarita, Wednesday, April 14th, 3pm.
