Apple Valley, MN — The Blaze started off the week with a solid 5-4 win over the Lightning from Eastview today. The Blaze got off to a hot start with 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning. The scoring was started with an RBI single by Alex Thompson to score Baylor Limberg. The Blaze then were helped out by an ENORMOUS double hit by Drake Sloan to gap in left center which cleared the bases. Simon Palmer took the bump to start for Burnsville. While Simon didn't have his best stuff he battled through 3 innings giving up only 1 run to the Lightning before surrendering to Jake Struzyk in the 4th. Struzyk came in and pitched 4 solid innings with only one blip in the 6th giving up 3 runs to allow the Lightning back into the game before shutting the door in the 7th on an efficient 10 pitch inning. The Blaze were lead offensively by the star of the game Drake Sloan who went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's. Missing only a home run to complete the cycle. Baylor Limberg chipped in with a double and 2 walks. Alex Thompson assisted with the last RBI for the boys. Jayden Chow, Jacob Neutz and Jacob Norton rounded out the hitting for Burnsville all with 1 hit. Defensively the Blaze were very efficient throughout committing only 1 error. Max Fox saved a couple errant throws at first base with a couple of gems coming off the base to get Eastview runners on the tag. Burnsville has Tuesday off before they return to action against the Eagles from Apple Valley at Alimagnet on Wednesday. Go Blaze!
