Fairfield, CT — Even though Newtown Nighthawks Varsity and Notre Dame Catholic both had their opportunities, it was Notre Dame Catholic that eventually prevailed 15-14 on Friday. Newtown Nighthawks Varsity was down 10-9 in the top of the seventh inning when Brianna Pellicone homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs. Pellicone drove in four runners in the loss. Pellicone drove in runs on a home run in the fifth and a home run in the seventh. Despite the runs, Adolfson gave up only 2 ER's and struck out 7.
