Farmington, MN — Burnsville 9A defeated Farmington 9A 8-3 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The Blaze were down 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Branden Einberger singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. In the sixth inning, the Blaze scored four runs to put the game out of reach. The rally was led by a walk by Brandon, a single by Nick Discher, and a groundout by Darren Einberger. Discher started the game for the Blaze. The righthander surrendered three runs on four hits over two and a third innings, striking out six Luke Dam earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Blaze in relief of Discher. Dam lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out four. Discher led the Blaze with two hits in five at bats. Chase Classen, Kenny Steffen and Brandon Einberger each collected one hit.
