Apple Valley, MN — Burnsville 9A's effort to come back from down four runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Eastview 9A on Monday. The Blaze scored four runs in the failed comeback on a sacrifice fly by Kenny Steffen and a three run double by Nick Discher. Eastview took the lead back in the bottom of the sixth, but the Blaze couldn’t score the tying run after Eli Johnson lead off the seventh with a single down the third base line. Greydon Isebrand started the game for Burnsville Freshman Blaze 9A. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out five and walking one. Luke McHugh threw three innings in relief, giving up one run on two hits while striking out two. Eli Johnson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blaze in hits. Discher and McHugh collected the only other hits. The Blaze get a rematch with Apple Valley on Wednesday.
