Burnsville, MN — Burnsville 9A defeated Apple Valley 9A 11-1 on Wednesday thanks to a timely eight runs in a big sixth inning. The Blaze pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. Eli Johnson doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, AJ Galvin doubled on the first pitch of the next at bat, scoring one run, and Kenny Steffen singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. The Blaze’s big sixth inning was driven by singles by Darren Einberger and John Santelman, a sac fly by Nick Discher, a fielder's choice by Branden Einberger, and an error on a ball put in play by AJ Galvin. The Blaze were also helped by some timely wild pitches. Discher got the start for the Blaze and the righty pitched a complete game allowing one hit and one run while striking out ten. The Blaze totaled ten hits in the game. Luke Dam and Greydon Isebrand each had two hits to lead the team. Chase Classen, Eli, Kenny, Darren, Nick and John each had hits on the night. Luke McHugh lead the team with two of the teams seven walks. Chase had four stolen bases, while John had two as the Blaze ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
