Woodland, CA — Vanden Vikings JV defeated Woodland on Friday, improving their record to 10-3 overall. Despite giving up 3 runs in the first inning the Vikings were too much for the Wolves. The Vikings also fired up the offense in the first inning. Jovan Ochoa drove in two runs with a high-bouncing single over the third-baseman’s head. Aiden Nolan would follow that with an RBI double. Vanden notched four more runs in the fourth inning. The Vike’s big bats in the inning were led by a RBI single by Tristin Castro, and two-out 2 RBI double by Dalen Shipp. Angel Cueva got the win for the Vikings. The hurler lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four and walking one. Trevor Morse threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
