San Juan Capistrano, CA — Cross town, non-league “rivals” SJHHS Stallions claim city bragging rights over our JV boys team this season defeating the Lions 12-6 in today’s rematch. Coach Kaley and her team agreed to an all doubles format which worked out well, giving all our 15 boys a chance to play 2-3 full sets. Lone MVP of the day, kudos to Gavin Conniff who was the only JSerra Lion to win 2 sets, putting him in the 100% club as he was 2 for 2. Congrats to Logan Lebsack and Nicholas Barrios who each one 1 set, playing alternately with Gavin at line #4 doubles. Congratulations to Kainoa Woessner who finally got a check mark in the win column in the opening round with Ashton Peasley, 6-4. Parker Gibson and Jordan Gessin took care of business in round #2, winning 6-0! Well done guys. JSerra got pushed around a bit in the top half of the “draw”, coming away with only 2 sets out of 9. Kenny Perez and Noah Nguyen won 6-4 in the second round, while Marco Belciano and Luke Krolikowski picked up a win in round 3 after dropping 2 tough tie-breaker sets😱. Next up: tomorrow, April 23rd rematch at Sage Hill, 3pm.
