Burnt Hills, NY — Burnt Hills defeated Schenectady 14-2 on Wednesday thanks in part to Vincent Vendetti, who drove in four runners. Vendetti drove in runs on a double in the second and a home run in the fifth. Burnt Hills pulled ahead for good in the second inning with 8 runs. DiCaprio doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Vendetti doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Wells doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, Deluke singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, DiCaprio grounded out, scoring one run, and Haluska drew a walk, scoring one run. Kyle DeCresce led the Spartans to victory on the hill. The righthander allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six. Wells threw two scoreless innings in relief, striking out 5. David Bernard took the loss for Schenectady. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing six hits and nine runs while striking out one and walking one. Burnt Hills hit one home run on the day and racked up 12 hits in total. Vendetti went yard in the fifth inning. Vendetti, Jack Duane, and Wells each collected multiple hits for the Spartans.
