Albany, NY — Liam Blesi came to the ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Burnt Hills to a 14-8 win over Albany. Blesi doubled in the first, singled in the third, tripled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth. Albany scored six runs in the seventh inning, but Burnt Hills still managed to pull out the victory. J.W. Harding, Alex Doehla, Seth Swiatek, Vincent Lembo, Delon Dean, and Travis Sitterly all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Mason Veronezi was the winning pitcher for the Spartans. The righthander surrendered zero runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six and walking one for his first Varsity victory. Shane Bonney and Greg Wescott entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Lembo took the loss for Albany. The pitcher surrendered 13 runs on 13 hits over four innings, striking out two. Burnt Hills racked up 18 hits in the game. Blesi, John Wells, Vincent Vendetti, Nate Deluke, Noah DiCaprio, and Jack Duane each managed multiple hits for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans Varsity. Blesi went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Burnt Hills in hits, falling just short of a cycle. Albany had nine hits in the game. Doehla and Sitterly each racked up multiple hits for Albany. Doehla led Albany with three hits in four at bats.
