Guilderland, NY — Burnt Hills weathered a push by Guilderland in the seventh inning where the Spartans coughed up three runs, but held on to win 7-4 on Friday. Guilderland's big inning was driven by a walk by Dan Keaney and a double by Peter Solimando. Burnt Hills got things started in the first inning when Noah DiCaprio singled on a 3-2 count with the bases loaded, scoring all three runs. Vincent Vendetti pitched the Spartans to victory. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven. Matt Pinkerton and Kyle DeCresce entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. DeCresce recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Burnt Hills. Ty Santabarbara took the loss for Guilderland. Santabarbara lasted five innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out four. Nate Deluke led Burnt Hills with two hits in four at bats. The Spartans didn't commit a single error in the field. DiCaprio had the most chances in the field with nine.
