Oxford, MI — The Highlanders scored early and often! Ferris set the tone early with a nice carry which led to him scoring the first TD of the night for Adams. At the end of the 1st Q - Highlanders led 7-0. Adams had a big 2nd Q that was started by Watters with an early TD putting the Highlanders up 13-0. Hernandez had a huge sac that was followed by a blocked punt by Hart. Anderjack and Stevanovski connected to increase the Highlanders lead for the third TD of the night with a 2 point conversion by Heppner. Late in the 2nd Q Anderjack and Stevanovski connected again sending the Highlanders into half time with a 27-0 lead. In the 3rd Q, the defense came out strong. Hernandez caused a fumble allowing Ferris to run the ball to the 4 yard line which set up Heppner for another Adams TD. Watters increased the Highlanders score with a 2 point conversion. King answered Oxfords only score of the night with a kick return for a TD. The defense remained strong late into the 3rd quarter as Yu ran for a TD on a fumble recovery. Limke ended the 3rd Q with a big stop. Heading into the 4th quarter Adams led 48-6 In the final quarter of the game, the defense continued to smother Oxford's offense. Alaniz-Garcia, Limke, and Stoutermire all worked together causing an Oxford turnover on downs, ending the game with a final score of Adams Highlanders 48 to Oxford Wildcats 6!
