Alhambra, CA — First Game of the Double Header ended in a Tie but that did not mean it was not exciting! Baron Lutz was on the mound for South Pasadena and after not pitching for over a month, provided 4 good innings with 8 strike outs. Carlo Williams finished the last three innings with 3 strike outs and was impressive as well. South Pasadena SPHS JV totaled nine hits in the game. Carlo Maling and Ben Petrillo each managed multiple hits for South Pasadena SPHS JV. Luke Riffle started off South Pasadena in the third inning with a line drive, double to left field bringing in Carlo Maling and Griffin Johnson. The highlight of the game was a hit by Carlo Maling to third base that allowed Devin Robinson to place himself into a "Pickle" situation between third base and home. Robinson carefully navigated thru the situation and performed the ultimate dodge maneuver to score a run. A double by Quinn Sterling almost reaching the left field fence brought in Carlo Maling in the sixth inning helping South Pasadena SPHS JV battle back to a 5-5 tie with Alhambra on Saturday.
