Senior Mia Corder (#10) got the Mustangs on the board in the 6th minute with the first goal of the night. Junior Tatum Scialdone (#6) added two more goals to stake the Mustangs with 3-1 lead after the first 40 minutes. In the second half Seniors Tara Savage (#13) and Karina Da Silva (#22) each found the back of the net to help the Mustangs secure the 5-2 first round CIF victory. Next up the Mustangs will take on Notre Dame Sherman Oaks on Saturday.
Second half goal by Senior Karina Da Silva (#22) assisted by Senior Inayah Khan (#9) help the Mustangs earn a draw on the road. Next up for the Mustangs is a home match with El Dorado.
Freshman Grace Anstead (#12) scores off the corner kick assisted by Sophomore Co-Captain Rebecca Huerth (#13). Thanks to stellar goal keeping by Sophomore Vivian Jimenez (#18) who held the Golden Hawks scoreless the Mustangs took the road league victory 1-0.
The Lady Mustangs were threatening all game when Mackenzie Slemmer (#15) got the scoring going in the 45th minute with a penalty kick goal. Not wasting much time, 7 minutes later Mackenzie scored her second goal of the game with a beautiful strike from 25 yards out. In the 64th minute Rupal Tyagi (#6) finished off the scoring with a beautiful strike from 18 yards out to beat the keeper and put the Mustangs up by the final score of 3-0. Next up, on Friday the Mustangs will travel to Canyon High School for a pivotal league match against the Comanches looking to even the season series after dropping the first match a few weeks back.
